This handcrafted fine bone china butter dish forms a part of our Kitchen Garden collection, which celebrates the extraordinary to be found in the everyday.
From its introduction to Great Britain in the 17th century, the pineapple represented an exotic symbol of wealth and opulence. King Charles II commissioned a portrait of himself being presented with one by a figure believed to be his Royal Gardener and, such was the pineapple's status that, in the Georgian era people were known to rent them at great expense for parties.
