The Rose Window of Notre-Dame Musical Box

This item is made to order and will take 4 weeks to deliver.

Constructed in the 13th century, Notre-Dame's magnificent stained glass Rose Window allows divine light to pour into the cathedral from above in the form of soft, jewel-like tones. In the centre oculus of the north Rose Window is the image of Mary enthroned holding the Christ Child. Surrounding them are images of kings and prophets of the Old Testament.

On 15 April, 2019 a disastrous fire ravaged the cathedral. Miraculously, the Rose Window remains intact, evoking a beautiful story of resilience and triumph.

Once opened, the Swiss-made Reuge movement softly plays 'Ave Maria' in commemoration of members of the public singing the hymn, supporting one another, whilst the cathedral stood in flames.

10% of the retail value of this Musical Box will be donated to La Fondation de Patrimoine.

Please allow 4 weeks for delivery.
