The Rose Window of Notre-Dame Musical Box
Proudly Handmade in England
Description
Constructed in the 13th century, Notre-Dame's magnificent stained glass Rose Window allows divine light to pour into the cathedral from above in the form of soft, jewel-like tones. In the centre oculus of the north Rose Window is the image of Mary enthroned holding the Christ Child. Surrounding them are images of kings and prophets of the Old Testament.
On 15 April, 2019 a disastrous fire ravaged the cathedral. Miraculously, the Rose Window remains intact, evoking a beautiful story of resilience and triumph.
Once opened, the Swiss-made Reuge movement softly plays 'Hallelujah' composed by George Frideric Handel.
10% of the retail value of this Musical Box will be donated to La Fondation de Patrimoine.
