The Chapel Royal Mug

Historic Royal Palaces is an independent charity that looks after the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, the Banqueting House, Kensington Palace, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle. The aim of Historic Royal Palaces is to help us explore the story of how monarchs and people alike have shaped society in some of the greatest palaces ever built.

Another fine example of our very successful relationship with Historic Royal Palaces is the exquisite Chapel Royal range.

The Chapel Royal at Hampton Court Palace has been in continuous use for over 450 years. Its magnificent blue ceiling, decorated with gold stars and gilded musical cherubs, was created for King Henry VIII in 1535–36 and exemplifies the grand Tudor interiors of the royal residence. A design inspired by the exquisite ceiling, the base colour of the pattern is ‘byse’, a shade of blue popular in Tudor time. Crafted from English fine bone china of the highest quality, this piece has also been hand gilded and inscribed with the words, 'Royal Motto Dien et mon Droit' (God and my Right) on the inside rim.

This piece is a sale item and will be delivered in white branded sale packaging and bangles will be delivered in pouches only. However, for a small extra cost you can add our signature packaging to your order.

Signature packaging includes archive vintage print boxes for all fine bone china products, navy branded boxes for bangles and cufflinks and navy branded sleeves for scarves (wrapping and ribbon is additional).
